Use a Pre-Existing Topic to Introduce Your Idea
Using a pre-existing subject for a polemic is always an interesting way to get people interested in what you have to say. Many people are not that easily impressed by a pre-existing topic, so it helps to get them on your side before they see anything you write coming from you.
Writing a preliminary topic that has some current events included is one of the best ways to do this. Letting the reader know that they can be involved in the discussion will usually open up their eyes to the fact that you are not writing out of a place of opinion.
